It’s my mom’s birthday. I have to look up the date of the year and do the math to figure out how old she is, but I have to do that with everyone in the family now. The only one I know exactly how old they are is my brother, who is exactly 10 years younger than me.
I sent mom a Hallmark card and a gift card to a nice restaurant, so hopefully she will have a nice meal without having to cook. She was planning a nice quiet day at home, hope she enjoys her special day.
I remember when I looked up the History of baby showers when I was put in charge of the baby shower games and prizes for a large surprise baby shower. This particular celebration was being held for one of my co workers that worked with me in the HR department, which was a fairly large department so we expected a good amount of people to attend. We invited her family, her best friend as well as her husband (who actually brought his mother along as well) so we ended up with almost 50 people, that is a big baby shower to put on.
Anyway, I spent a good amount of time online looking for all kinds of information and help with the task that I was selected to take care of. Seeing all of the new born baby products that they have these days and how cute all those little tiny things look always gets to me, so soft and fluffy, sweet pastel colors and designs tend to bring out those feelings of wanting to have a baby. I mean really those adorable baby animal hats that are all the rage these days! You have to understand that I am a hat freak to start with so having a baby to adorn their little heads with all the little hats as well, it’s just too wild not to think and dream about.
Then after the baby shower was all done and over with, the mother-to-be was very happy with customized baby blankets that I had special ordered and gave to her and the tons of other stuff that she walked out of there with, I went to the grocery store on my way home. Standing in line behind me was a mother dealing with her bratty and out of control two year old and her newborn that was not happy about being there one bit. So after hearing all of that commotion I can tell you that I snapped out of the very strong and ever growing urge to have another baby – real quick like!
I have never been a fan of wearing a bra, in fact I hate it and I do everything and anything that I can in an effort not to have to wear one if I can get away with it. I gave up years ago trying to find the Best Bra. I can’t tell you how many bras I have tried on throughout the years in all kinds of stores that I find myself venturing into. My sisters have even given up on finding a bra that I will consent to wearing. I have drawers full of hand-me-down bras from them, my mother, my step mother and even a few from my best friend that they have felt that I could wear.
I have been seeing and hearing about the new Shapeez bras that are all the rage. The Today Show even did a spot on this new Seamless shape wear solution, which is why I have gone online to find out more about their garments, in hopes of finding one that I might be able to tolerate for more than just a few minutes before driving me right up the wall in discomfort and aggravation. I do believe that their Long Tankee just might fit the bill, so I’m going to use my last gift card that I have been holding onto that I got for Christmas, and place my order online and keep my fingers crossed that I will be a happy camper and finally be able to wear a bra in comfort. That would be one for the books, as they say!
My oldest daughter will be celebrating another birthday next month. The birthday’s just keep coming and coming, don’t they? Coming from a large family, there is always a birthday or anniversary looming just up ahead. We have so many that now we try to focus on just the kids when it comes to gift cards and Christmas presents.
This kid has always had sensitive skin and then when puberty hit she has had her hands full dealing with acne and still is. I’m not surprised, I still have occasional break outs and I’m and old lady in need of some anti-aging light therapy. Your face is never not in need of some type of special care for heaven’s sake.
Check out this cool info-graphic that I found and sent to my daughter for her to see, learn and possibly enjoy as well.
Now these Koolaburra Savannity Boots are a must have for me for this Christmas. I have been looking for some time now for boots just like these and about fell off of my chair when I stumbled onto these last night. These come in three colors, Seta, Black and Chestnut. Years ago I would have fallen for the Chestnut, but now I think the black would be a better choice for me. I don’t have all that much in browns these days, but I always have plenty of black and most things go with black so it is a much safer color in my wardrobe and for my age.

I hope it isn’t too late to get the word out that I have updated my Christmas Wish List to the few friends and family members that actually ask what I want and or need for Christmas. These wonderful boots of sheepskin have managed to bully their way right on top of that list so I need to do some adjusting and quick. Like if my two sisters or a brother decide to go in together for me under the Christmas tree this year, this would be a perfect gift. I haven’t had a boot like this in so very long and I’m anxious to see how they look and how they feel.
