Video Teleconferencing

We got good news today at work, they are finally going to start offering video teleconferencing to several employees. No one is really sure who those employees are going to be as of yet. I really hope that I will be one of the “chosen ones” as does everyone. Video teleconferencing really is the wave of the future, it saves time and money for everyone all across the board. Just the thought of not having to deal with the daily commute, traffic and parking gets me excited.

We have been promised some more definite information come next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me out there.

Argan Conditioner and Argan Shampoo

Last night I finally tried the Argan Shampoo and Argan Conditioner that I received as a gift for Christmas through our Secret Santa party at work and I have to tell you that I am really impressed with the way this stuff makes my hair feel and look. They combine seaweed extract with Argan oil and Vitamin E so that it gently cleans and moisturizes the scalp and the hair and by golly it really works wonders. I’ll have to make sure and thank the co worker that drew my name, it is suppossed to be a secret but secrets are impossible to keep around that place!

Scrubs for Today’s Medical Professionals

It is good to see that the powers above for today’s medical professions have decided to allow their personnel to wear decorative scrub medical uniforms instead of those plain white uniforms of the past. I remember as kid spending some time in the hospital, man it was so cold and sterile like, it would have been nicer if the nurses had on some of kiddie scrub sets that you see so much of with the good folks that work in pediatrics. Would have brought a tad bit of warmth to the whole ordeal.

The main thing I remember about the stay, other than the crappy food that they tried to make me eat, is my doctor had a fake lizard on his stethoscope that used to help distract his patients with while he tried to examine them. Some thing as simple as that can make a big difference to a scared, sick kid. So seeing a nurse wearing Winnie The Pooh or Mickey Mouse scrubs can certainly make a kid feel a bit less freaked out with everything going on with them and around them. New Business Phone Systems

I got word today that I have been place in charge of finding the right business phone systems at the office, come the New Year. That is when a lot of changes will be happening around there. This is really good new all the way around, we will be getting a much needed business phone system and I’ll have the opportunity to learn a lot about what is out there these days for business phone systems and when I get us hooked up with a new one I’ll know everything that one would need to know to operate it. I’ll look like the hero in the office! LOL

Enclosed Bulletin Boards

It seems that the current enclosed bulletin boards are falling apart, so I have been asked to take charge of the situation and find replacement ones for them as well as keeping them maintained and filled with current events and information. Like I don’t all ready have enough to do all ready and now I’ve been given another responsibility to take on.

I spent most of the morning looking online at various enclosed cork bulletin boards and enclosed fabric bulletin boards. Man I had no idea that there would be so many variations on the good old bulletin boards that have been around for so long, But I think I have found a couple that my boss will like the look of as well as the prices that go along with them. I’ll know more by tomorrow or whenever he gets around to finding my paperwork in his all ready overflowing Inbox. Just hoping he likes what he sees and that we can get on with it.

The Fast Forward Academy

I have been contemplating taking a tax class and then take the much talked about tax preparer exam and then during tax season I could get one of those tax preparer jobs that so many people have turned to in order to generate some income into the household. With the economy showing no sign of letting up any time soon, actually it is looking like it just might get worse instead of better. The evening news is full of stories of all of the demonstrating taking place in New York City for the past couple of weeks and it now looks like those protesters are spreading and branching out to other major cities all across the country.

I like the fact that a tax preparer only has to work part of the year, so that leaves a lot of time left in order to do the things that so many working mothers need to take care of these days. I would love to be able to help friends and family with their tax questions and their tax forms at no charge, as well as learning a whole lot in order to get my taxes done with the best return possible. That would just be so worth it and so cool. I am going to start looking into this real soon.

I’ve always dreamed of owning my own business but really the only thing I’ve ever been good at is dancing. I love moving my body and then it hit me – why don’t I open a dance studio where I teach kids the things I know? I’ve had my own place for about 2 years now and business is just wonderful. I get to go to work every day knowing that I get to see some of my favorite kids and also get to dance my thoughts away. I have it all decked out with the best flooring and changing rooms and a www.HomeSecurity101.com security system to protect all the AV equipment at night when I’m not there. I’m loving being a small business owner so far and if I just hang on another year or so I think I’ll be able to hire a couple more trainers as well! I never imagined being this successful and I know my family is almost as proud of me as I am of myself…and I really am!

I’m seeing more and more commercials for Online Schools on the TV, some nights it seems as if those are the only commercials playing. Man that drives me crazy when you see the same commercial over and over during one show and if you stay on that same channel long one could actually get a bit turned off of the product or service that is being advertised way too much for one’s own good.

I know that people are flocking to attend colleges and universities in an attempt to further their education in hopes of securing a good paying job, although it certainly isn’t guaranteed to, never has and never will I’m afraid. But in these trying and very uncertain economic times it is the best option for most. I’ve been giving thought to going back to school, and am leaning towards online degree programs in nursing since the need for people in the medical profession will always be there, no matter what or so I am told.

My brother just sent me the link to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ which is the link to a Free application For Federal Student Aid for me to check out to see if I can get some financial assistance since there is no way I could afford anything like this on my own and I’m sure my brother doesn’t want to have to loan me the money and this is his way of telling me so. Ha!

Big Sisters Come Together To Help Kid Sister

My sisters and I used to buy Mother’s Day presents for each other years ago, but as we got older and our families starting growing and growing, we kind of just fizzled out on that tradition and have settled for sending each other cards instead. With big families such as ours, we spend way too much money all year around with all of the gift giving holiday’s that keep coming back year after year, along with all of the birthdays. It seems that I am always on the look out for a present for somebody, somewhere, who is celebrating something.

This year I did something different for Mother’s Day. My kid sister just started her career in the medical field that she worked so hard to get into. She doesn’t have much money right now, but give her a good six or seven months and she will be doing just fine, in the meantime we have (the sisters in the family) been doing what we can in order to help her out. Her new position requires that she wear scrubs, so we have been looking around to see if we can find some cheap scrub uniforms to buy for her to wear to work each day. Since we didn’t have any picked out and agreed on to give to her on Mother’s Day but I did print out a little coupon that I gave to her in a real sentimental birthday card that cost me all most $10, arg…………

Mom’s Home Cooking – Enough To Go Around

I believe that most of us believe that there just isn’t any better cook in the world then your mother. I know that is the case in our family. Even though my mother is getting up there in age and can’t do some of things that she used to do, but she still enjoys cooking, especially the large family meals that we have come to expect throughout the year. All the holidays that the family gets together for and the birthday dinners that she cooks for us on “our special day” if it is your birthday you get to pick anything that you want for dinner and she will cook it just for you, just the way that you want it.

Coming from a large family, such as ours, has kept my mother pregnant and in the kitchen most of her life, but she has never complained and looks forward to many more years doing what she does best in her kitchen. She has always wanted a larger refrigeration and freezer system and now it seems as if she just might get some of the things that she has always wished for because she has come up with a plan to start a small catering business that will require some upgrading to the house here and there. Of course she will need various catering supplies as well, so I have consented to go over there and help her look around online for some of the equipment that she will be wanting and needing to get going in this adventure that she is so looking forward to diving in to as soon as possible.
