We got good news today at work, they are finally going to start offering video teleconferencing to several employees. No one is really sure who those employees are going to be as of yet. I really hope that I will be one of the “chosen ones” as does everyone. Video teleconferencing really is the wave of the future, it saves time and money for everyone all across the board. Just the thought of not having to deal with the daily commute, traffic and parking gets me excited.
We have been promised some more definite information come next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me out there.

Gas prices just drive me crazy. It’s hard to believe that on Christmas Day the price of gas finally hit under the $3 mark, $2.99 to be exact, while today it has risen to $3.49 a gallon. That is a 50 cent increase in just over a month. I hear that we could be seeing prices above the $4 a gallon mark come summer, sigh…..
What really bites is that the gas station that had gas for $2.99 was closed on Christmas day so I didn’t even get to buy any.
Go figure.

My weekends are supposed to be the time that I can sleep in a little late, rest up and relax some. Since we are having such unusual warm weather for the middle of January I planned on getting some things done outside that could be taken care of until waiting until spring and get me out for some much welcomed fresh air.
This morning started out just wrong from the get go. My phone rang at 7:45am and then my keurig b70 coffee maker, that I just got for Christmas, went on the fritz forcing me to break out the old jar of stale instant coffee in order for me to get some much needed caffeine to get me going with the outside business at hand. If that wasn’t enough to turn me to sour, my stupid van needed a jump start to get started.
I’m done and it isn’t even noon yet….

Got your Harley yet? I figure we’ll seeing even a bigger increase in the number of guys/gals on motorcycles come next spring and summer. With the price of gasoline rocketing upward, this gives every middle aged crisis guy the perfect excuse to buy a motorcycle using the excuse of great gas mileage.
A lot of guys ride the Japanese made bikes that tear through my neighborhood on Saturdays and Sundays on their way to the Lake. Those guys are the dummies who ride with sandals instead of good leather boots, and ride shirtless instead of a leather jacket or vest. They ride too fast for the road conditions, dart in between cars, burn rubber at stop signs, and eventually get hurt because they are reckless and stupid.
Harley riders are different. Guys on the Jap bikes are the ones who ruin it for the rest of us. These idiots are the reason we have helmet laws. The serious bikers know to protect themselves and how to handle a motorcycle. But the idiots don’t even have enough sense to wear a helmet unless we force them to do it.

Getting my sister back home to attend her 40th High School reunion has been a see-saw ride from hell, bless her heart. One week it is a go, the next week it isn’t. Then when everything seemed to be a go, all of a sudden things bottomed out. Next thing I hear is that a fellow class mate came to her rescue and helped her out with some last minute flights and last minute hotels and she is now expected to arrive at my door step tomorrow afternoon. Boy do I have a lot of last minute accommodation issues to deal with myself all of a sudden. Don’t get me wrong, I love my sis and I am so excited that she is now really, really, really coming but the word last week was that it wasn’t happening so I put off all of the things that a house needs done in order to receive out of town company. You can relate to that now can’t you?
She won’t be staying here the entire time, she will be bouncing back and forth from here to other locations as well, but this will be her home base so to speak. It has been over 5 years since I have seen her and we have so much to catch up on and I hope that she has a great time at her reunion tomorrow night.
