We have become quite close this past year and so. We have started eating lunch together most days and have gone out a few times after work on a more personal level, which has been fun. I don’t have a lot of friends here, I left all of my friends when I moved down here almost 7 years ago. It’s hard to make new friends when you are a mother and work full time, there isn’t a lot of time for me and my needs, so it works out well to have a good friend at work considering how much time we spend at work.

It was so cool to draw her name at out Christmas gift exchange this year since I knew what would really float her boat this year. So many times you get stuck with a name for someone you really don’t know or like and it can be tricky finding the perfect gift. I really hate just buying a generic gift for anyone, putting a little thought and consideration can go a long way when you buy a present for someone.

I came across this recipe and don’t want to lose track of it. I’ll come back later and grab the actual recipe ingredients and quantities later. I want to cook this for a lazy Sunday brunch. They look delicious!

Today’s fur vests are cool also, something that I’ve been interested in checking out for some time so I’ve been looking at fur vests for sale as well on the good old World Wide Web tonight. We have had a very mild winter so far, but I just know that we will be paying for that later on down the road and I’d like to have nice warm outer clothing on to help keep me toasty warm. Cold weather and I just don’t see eye to eye these past couple of years so I’m grateful for the mild winter so far. But nothing good lasts forever, am I right?

Man I can’t wait for spring.

Moving her to Tennessee was the best thing I ever did and it’s mostly just because I love this house. Being a stay at home mom was never in the cards for me since I’m also a single mom so having a home that my daughter can grow up in even if it is with a nanny makes me feel good at the end of the day. I’ve got her a great little room with a nice set of windows (painted pink, of course) and I even looked into ADT security TN for her feeling of safety and for mine. I love being the mom but sometimes it’s a lot of responsibility wondering if she’s doing well and adjusting okay and I also feel guilty at times about working so much but I know that everything I do is to make her life and mine better at the end of the day. I hope she appreciates that but I’m pretty sure she does. Who could blame me for making a better life for us?

I really like the people that work at this medical facility for animals. They are always friendly and I usually don’t have to wait very long for any of the many procedures, office visits, shots, and all the other times we end up in their waiting room. It’s nice to see their dress policy allows the more upbeat vet scrubs for their medical uniforms that most folks are required to wear if they are in any type of medical position. They have some pretty cool veterinary scrub fashions to choose from these days, not just Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse that we are all so used to seeing so much of for so long. The main thing I remember about the stay, other than the crappy food that they tried to make me eat, is my doctor had a fake lizard on his stethoscope that used to help distract his patients with while he tried to examine them. Some thing as simple as that can make a big difference to a scared, sick kid. So seeing a nurse wearing Winnie The Pooh or Mickey Mouse scrubs can certainly make a kid feel a bit less freaked out with everything going on with them and around them.
