Like most women I do enjoy wearing the latest footwear fashions. My closet is over flowing with shoes, some dating back to my teen age years. Back then I wasn’t happy unless I got at least one new pairs of shoes a week, whether it was from using my allowance, or my mother’s charge card, and later after I started working part time after school and some summers. I just can’t bring myself to toss any of them in the trash, because as we all know, everything that’s old is new again at some point. Besides you can never have too many shoes!

This year the Roman/Gladiator style ladies sandals  are very popular. I have to be honest I really didn’t like the look of them when I first started seeing the television commercials advertising them, but the more that I see them, and they are seeming to be every where, I now think that I am ready to purchase a pair to wear this summer with some of the sun dresses that I have found and love wearing. Since I look for the best deals possible, I took the time last night to hunt around online and see what I could find. It didn’t take long to find a site that offers free shipping on all domestic orders of $59.88 and over, I could afford to get several pairs that way. At www.housershoes.com they have tons of ladies boots, shoes, sandals and of course lots of footwear for kids and men as well.

Since my 40th birthday is coming up in a few short months, my sister has already decided that for the big birthday celebration in honor of my 40th year on this earth that she is going to order and furnish the birthday cake that she will make sure will have at least one pair of shoes on it, much like this cake posted down below. I think she is pulling my leg (excuse the pun) but if she manages to pull it off I can’t imagine a more fitting birthday cake.

I just now discovered that not only did Scooter destroy my work boots but he also managed to chew up my ash bowie sneakers that I just got for Christmas. I’ve never owned any wedge sneaker heels and always wanted a pair so my older sister was nice enough to buy me a pair that she found online for my Christmas present just 5 months ago.

I don’t think that I have the guts to tell her what happened to them, she isn’t all that crazy about dogs anyway and this would just really tick her off. So not only do I have to find new work boots but I have to find a new pair of these wonderful wedge sneakers that I can get to replace and hopefully keep the peace in the family. Looks like I have my work cut out for me tomorrow inside on the computer. Oh well, it’s supposed to rain all day tomorrow, so I’m glad that we got to enjoy the good weather day today.

Scooter has never done anything like this before, usually I let him outside with us but for some reason that didn’t happen and now I’ve got to find some new work boots and fast.

If I can get hubby off of his favorite site on the computer called “put this on” I might be able to find a pair and get them ordered in a timely fashion with some of the money that I have left from this week’s paycheck. Having to use this money to replace my boots will certainly take away from my lunch money for the next two weeks. Looks like I’ll be packing home made lunches for a while, sigh.

I need to come up with a Mother’s Day present and am having the worst time of it this year. The only thing that I can think of that my mother really needs is a new tv stand. I know it isn’t a typical Mother’s Day present, but there is nothing typical about any member in my family these days and I’ll be darned if I’m going to spend my hard earned money on something like flowers that will be dead in a few days and then tossed in the trash.

I spent way too money and came home with a ton of chocolates. There isn’t a piece of chocolate in this house and I have been craving chocolate each night the past week, which I haven’t been able to produce to satisfy that driving craving that hits you late at night, when you are too tired to go out anywhere to get what you are so wanting.

It has been a couple of months since the Christmas holidays have come and gone. Along with it went all the Christmas goodies that end up in the house that time of year. Cakes, pies, cookies, candies, chocolates and all the wonderful deserts that people make during that festive holiday season. The house is back to normal (or as normal as it will ever be) and there isn’t a trace of last year’s festivities and summer is on it’s way!

When I went grocery shopping they were having a massive sale on their chocolates and I couldn’t make up my mind on which ones to get so I went a little crazy and bought a bunch of different kinds, just in case. I now have a good sized bowl in the kitchen filled with a nice variety of chocolates that should keep my night time cravings in check for a few months.

I don’t want to spend a lot of money on this right now just in case my daughter changes her mind again after just a couple of lessons or so. She has been known for changing her mind in mid stream and it has been a real struggle for her grandmother and I to organize these lessons, there is a lot on the line right now and I can only pray that there will be no kinks in these well thought out plan, but kids will be kids.

We stopped by a Camper World kinda place a few years ago and I was crushed to see how expensive they can be. Not in this girl’s budget!

But if you have some cash at hand and bide your time, bargains can be had. I have been watching the sell it yourself ad books each week and there have been some good deals out there. I’m just not ready to spend that much money, what with taxes coming due and the price of gas going up a few pennies more every day.

But I have wanderlust in my genes and traveling the country by RV gives you a totally different perspective on the highways and towns on your trip than just flying in on a plane and taking a cab to the hotel. I want to see the country close up and do it while I’m young enough to enjoy the experience.

I’ll be glad when she gets her driver’s license, but in the mean time I guess it does give us time together. I am the cool aunt and I enjoy her very much. I hear that she is studying to get her Learner’s Permit, so her driving will give her the independence that most of us crave at that age. I’ll just have to start asking her to drive me to places in order to ever see her.

My youngest brother was into collecting coins many years ago and then one day he basically put everything away in his safe deposit box and tucked away the key leaving his coin collection to sit in waiting until about a year ago.

The one thing about people that collection things, it makes it easier to buy them gifts on the many gift giving occasions that come around each year. Since my brother has started enjoying his coin collection again I was thinking to buy buy morgan silver dollars as his birthday gift this year. It isn’t until July, so I have some time to check out a few places that I have in mind and see what is out there that I think will be the best deal for me as well as something that he will enjoy and appreciate.
