Now that there is a chill in the air, I have to dig out the sweatshirts and jackets. I have a variety of sweatshirts from events and places visited. My favorite was a dark green sweatshirt from the Hard Rock Cafe in Chicago. It was stolen off of me – wrapped around my waist – as I crossed a busy street in New Orleans during Mardi Gras several years ago,. That was freaky – to have your clothes ripped right off of your body in broad daylight.
I just realized that I don’t have a single hoodie. All of my sweatshirts are regular crew neck shirts. Not that it was by design. I guess I’ve never been interested in hoodies.

DH came home with a big box of ripe bananas that were free for the taking. I don’t know how two people are supposed to eat all these bananas. I guess I will freeze them and break out the blender so we can start making smoothies and milkshakes.

This morning I heard that WalMart has a way for customers to sign up on their web site for free samples. The link to do that is on their site but you have to hunt for it. Click here.
They tell me that when you sign up they mail a lot of different products to your house – all for free. They also have free trials and free music dowloads. That sounds like a bargain!

Just can’t get in the mood for Christmas shopping, but I realize that we are just 10 days away from Santa’s descent down my chimney. So I had better get busy. There are several people out of town that I won’t get to see in person this year, so I’m plucking a variety of giftcards from the kiosk at Kroger and sending out lots of cards this year. They today is the deadline to get things mailed using regular Post Office mail, so I’m heading out early and getting as much done today as I can do.

Flipping through the cable channels I came upon the Food Network. Have you seen Paula Deen’s cooking show? She is a wonderful cooking show hostess – a great personality and charming in a totally Southern Belle way. I’ve bought two of her cookbooks and one of her magazines. I think I’m going to just subscribe to her magazine – I love the recipes and the photographs that show me what the finished dish is supposed to look like. And everything turns out yummy!
Paula’s two sons cook, too. They have a couple of cookbooks out on their own. I bought one at Sam’s Club and will go back for the other one next week. I bought the one called “Recipes from the Road,” which features the local recipes from famous eateries on their road trip across America. I can’t wait to try some of them after I shop for their ingredients!
