Vet Scrubs
I had to take one of my dogs to the vet today, a trip that no one enjoys taking, but twice a year I load her up in the car and haul her old butt up the street to the local veterinarian for her check ups. Squeaky is over 13 years old and she doesn’t like having to get in and out of the back seat anymore and she knows where we are going so she doesn’t make it any easier than she possibly can for the duration of the entire task.
I really like the people that work at this medical facility for animals. They are always friendly and I usually don’t have to wait very long for any of the many procedures, office visits, shots, and all the other times we end up in their waiting room. It’s nice to see their dress policy allows the more upbeat vet scrubs for their medical uniforms that most folks are required to wear if they are in any type of medical position. They have some pretty cool veterinary scrub fashions to choose from these days, not just Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse that we are all so used to seeing so much of for so long. Activated Charcoal for Odor Removal
This morning I went down stairs to the basement where I have my large freezer jam packed with frozen food, only to find that some how the door was not closed all the way, for god knows how long, and every piece of frozen food had gone bad. I had probably over $1000 worth of food, mainly meats, stored in there. What a bad way to start the week out and what a mess I have to look forward to cleaning up.
I just might call in some professionals, what with Christmas in less than two weeks I really have my hands full. I may have to go online and look for a place that can use activated charcoal for odor removal if the odor is too bad for me to stomach. I’ve used http://www.thesteamteam.com/austin-cleaning-services/ in the past and have been happy with them and what they have done for me in my previous times of need through out the years of home ownership. There is never a good thing for something like to happen but there certainly are worse times and right now is a pretty bad time, argg…

Lodge Furniture
Was looking through some old photos with my daughter today that I found in a box in my closet while stashing some Christmas gifts away where the kids can’t get their paws on them. These particular pictures were of my parents summer home on the water, back when they still had the log cabin on the property. I loved that old log cabin with all of it’s lodge furniture in it and the screened in porch that wrapped all the way around 3 sides of it. My father had us all convinced that Daniel Boone had built that log cabin. I remember how my heart was broken when I later learned that he had just made that up.
Scrubs for Today’s Medical Professionals
It is good to see that the powers above for today’s medical professions have decided to allow their personnel to wear decorative scrub medical uniforms instead of those plain white uniforms of the past. I remember as kid spending some time in the hospital, man it was so cold and sterile like, it would have been nicer if the nurses had on some of kiddie scrub sets that you see so much of with the good folks that work in pediatrics. Would have brought a tad bit of warmth to the whole ordeal.
The main thing I remember about the stay, other than the crappy food that they tried to make me eat, is my doctor had a fake lizard on his stethoscope that used to help distract his patients with while he tried to examine them. Some thing as simple as that can make a big difference to a scared, sick kid. So seeing a nurse wearing Winnie The Pooh or Mickey Mouse scrubs can certainly make a kid feel a bit less freaked out with everything going on with them and around them. They have some good affordable quality medical uniforms at http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Women/Original-Scrubs/.
