Bruno Mars

Sunday, October 9th, 2011

I fell in love with the song Grenade done by Bruno Mars last year when it came out. I had not hear it in a while, but today driving back home from our local pet store, it came on the radio and I really enjoyed hearing it and rocking out to it. So when I got home I went on YouTube.com and found it. It was then that I found out that Bruno Mars had also done Just The Way You Are, which is a good tune as well. Thought I’d post it here today.

When I leave this world I want this song played for me and for all the people that I leave behind. The Return To Innocence By Enigma is the best song ever! The first time I heard it was in the movie “Man of the House” so long ago and I still enjoy listening to it every chance I get.

Angels Sing

Anyone remember this really awesome performance by Susan Boyle a few years on the British show, “Britains Got Talent” and how she wows the judges and I was so taken with this lady. I can’t stop watching her clip on Youtube. It’s been embedding disabled, so if you’d like to hear this angel’s voice, click here.

Music in My Life

Friday, September 16th, 2011

My family has had music in our lives for at least 4 generations. Music is what brought my grandfather to America from England. He came “across the pond” to join his brother, a concert pianist on tour in America. He loved it here and sent for my grandmother, and that’s how I came to speak with a mild southern accent rather than a cockney accent.

Over the years there have been a lot of songs that meant something special to me. Songs that I’ve performed, songs that were dedicated to me, and songs that bring forth memories of people, place and events that were a big part of my life. So I thought it would be fun to start trolling Youtube and posting some of them here on my blog as I find them.

Too Old For Rock-N-Roll (concerts), Tell Me It Isn’t So . . . .

Friday, August 19th, 2011

I don’t think that I would enjoy going to a music concert at this point in my life. The last one I went to it was because I was given two Zac Brown Band Tickets and I felt obligated to go, why I don’t know, but I did. I called up a friend from work and she jumped at the chance to go, so off we trotted, dressed to kill, ready for a night of fun rocking and rolling our hearts out even though it was a work night and we both needed to be at work bright and early the next morning. We grabbed a quick bite to eat and had a couple of after dinner drinks to get us in the mood and got there just moments for the show started. Things went down hill from there I’m sad to say. First, it was way too loud and we were stuck in seats that were right in front of one of the largest speakers that I’ve ever seen in my life. Second, we had assigned seats but no one wanted to sit down during the performance so we had to stand up as well which sucked after working all day, on my feet for the majority of the time. Even standing up we couldn’t see much so we kept sitting down a good part of the time. The third problem was with the group of people behind us, it was a big group of people that must have been smoking crack and chasing it with whiskey or tequila or something just as horrible, their behavior was totally outrageous, they were loud, mean, vulgar and kept arguing and fighting between themselves, it was just crazy.

The next day at work we were both dragging, feeling like little old ladies, which was very disturbing to me. It was then that I realized that my concert going days have come to an end. I don’t care if some one turned me on to some Elton John Tickets, I’m done. Now that is saying that I don’t want to attend any type of live performance. I love comedy and I’d love to get my hands on some Dane Cook Tickets, he is my absolute favorite comic, right up there with Jeff Dunham and Jeff Foxworthy. Go ahead and make me laugh any time, please. And of course any Notre Dame Stadium Tickets or Spiderman Turn off the Dark Tickets would always be welcomed!
