Haven’t listened to this song in many years. It used to bring down after my beloved Atomic was put down at the ripe old age of 13 years. One of my all time favorite musicians was killed years ago in a helicopter crash. At first they thought that Eric Clapton was the one killed, but it turned out that Eric had given up his seat to Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I some how got myself a stomach bug that has turned my life upside down but I am finally feeling up to real food again. I made grilled cheese sandwiches and nibbled on a small handful of Lays potato chips. I’m still drinking a lot of green tea, and I think maybe I’m getting addicted to the tea. I have a cup by my side all day and even take a cup to bed with me and leave it on the night stand.

I’ve given up on TV – the only time I turn it on is to watch the 10:00 news and then I shut it off again. I’d much rather listen to the music I have in my collection and have been playing a lot of oldies but goodies to just listen to them again. It’s not as depressing. Found an old album by Robert Cray that’s really easy on the ears. Haven’t listened to him in ages – love it.

When I was a little girl, we used to take Lee Highway to go around the Northern Virginia suburbs. When we got close to Merrifield, we would always see this huge figure of Nipper, the dog. Nipper was the mascot for RCA records. I loved watching this big dog and the record player from the back seat of my Daddy’s car as we drove by, I don’t believe it is there any more. But it was fun to find this old photo of a childhood landmark.

I have always been a fan of Stevie Nicks and her music. She has made some awesome videos, too.

I love just about every song that she has done on her own, and I love the songs by Fleetwood Mac. I know I have at least three of their albums in my music collection.

I would be thrilled to meet her some day.

This song was one of the great demonstrations of how cool stereo can sound. This song is performed by John Lee in the Blues Brothers movie and there are other clips on YouTube. But this one from a 1966 TV show is my favorite.

I saw John Lee in concert at Wolftrap when he was in his 80′s and could not stand up to play any longer. He sat in a folding chair and gave a great show – full set – and he rocked the house.
