This movie trailer is on YouTube and i came across it this afternoon. My girlfriend, Leslie Ellis, has a role in it. I think she did a great job playing the telephone operator who handles his call. WTG Les!

Summer Movies

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

This is a great year for new movies for children. There are fun and exciting movies coming out just about every week, just for kids, as well as several good ones for adults. the biggest one that I want to see is the new Transformers movie that comes out next week. I hope to see that in the theater on a big screen for maximum enjoyment of all the special effects.

I have not seen a movie in 3D, but evidently there are several 3D movies out now, too. I think we might go watch one just so I can experience the 3D effects. Sounds like cool fun on a hot summer day.

Cropper Crush

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Steve Cropper is a musician’s musician. He’s had a little bit of face recognition type of celebrity gigs, but mostly he works behind the scenes. He is probably the second most infamously accomplished musician, with Paul Shaeffer being the #1 in that category. I love them both for the way they remind me of my father, but I have had a serious crush on Steve Cropper for probably. . . oh, 40 years, give or take.

The most notorious role Steve played was guitar player in the Blues Brothers movies as part of The Blues Brothers Band. He was SOOO ’70′s in that too long hair and too long beard – almost a ZZ Top wannabe thing going on. But he got his big break much much earlier than that when he was writing music and playing with Booker T and the MGs.

Remember “Green Onions?” Steve Cropper.

Remember “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay?” Written by Steve for Otis.

Love that guy and I totally freak out every time I see him – it is SOOO hard to keep my cool and not run up to him gushing like a stupid groupie. But my crush on Steve continues to be a secret from him – unless he starts reading my blog!
