Women and Their Love of Shoes

Monday, May 21st, 2012

One of my passion’s is shoes. Like most women I do enjoy wearing the latest footwear fashions. My closet is over flowing with shoes, some dating back to my teen age years. Back then I wasn’t happy unless I got at least one new pairs of shoes a week, whether it was from using my allowance, or my mother’s charge card, and later after I started working part time after school and some summers. I just can’t bring myself to toss any of them in the trash, because as we all know, everything that’s old is new again at some point. Besides you can never have too many shoes!

This year the Roman/Gladiator style ladies sandals  are very popular. I have to be honest I really didn’t like the look of them when I first started seeing the television commercials advertising them, but the more that I see them, and they are seeming to be every where, I now think that I am ready to purchase a pair to wear this summer with some of the sun dresses that I have found and love wearing. Since I look for the best deals possible, I took the time last night to hunt around online and see what I could find. It didn’t take long to find a site that offers free shipping on all domestic orders of $59.88 and over, I could afford to get several pairs that way. At www.housershoes.com they have tons of ladies boots, shoes, sandals and of course lots of footwear for kids and men as well.

Since my 40th birthday is coming up in a few short months, my sister has already decided that for the big birthday celebration in honor of my 40th year on this earth that she is going to order and furnish the birthday cake that she will make sure will have at least one pair of shoes on it, much like this cake posted down below. I think she is pulling my leg (excuse the pun) but if she manages to pull it off I can’t imagine a more fitting birthday cake.

Girl Games, It’s About Time

Friday, May 11th, 2012

I am so happy to say that girl games have gone a long way since my 22 year old niece was a little girl looking for girl games to play on the computer. Of course that was all most twenty years ago, but you have to understand that girls were just as active on computers back then and had only a few actually girl games for the large number of females that were looking for entertainment just as much as the guys were. I don’t know what they would have done without the few Disney games that had come out by then. I remember how much she loved playing The Lion King back then, but then I’m sure a lot of young guys were playing it back then as well.

These days there are tons of girl games available to today’s generation of young girls. One such site that has a grand selection to offer is easy girl games. Everything from kissing games, Barbie games, cooking games, make over games, to celebrity dress up games. Not only do they have games to play but they have tips and articles that are targeting the female population for them to read and use as well, so it isn’t only games that they have there, which I think is pretty darn cool.

Let’s hear it for “Girl Power” – Remember The Spice Girls?

My Late Night Sweet Tooth

Monday, April 30th, 2012

I don’t know what got over me at the grocery store the other night. I spent way too money and came home with a ton of chocolates. There isn’t a piece of chocolate in this house and I have been craving chocolate each night the past week, which I haven’t been able to produce to satisfy that driving craving that hits you late at night, when you are too tired to go out anywhere to get what you are so wanting.

It has been a couple of months since the Christmas holidays have come and gone. Along with it went all the Christmas goodies that end up in the house that time of year. Cakes, pies, cookies, candies, chocolates and all the wonderful deserts that people make during that festive holiday season. The house is back to normal (or as normal as it will ever be) and there isn’t a trace of last year’s festivities and summer is on it’s way!

When I went grocery shopping they were having a massive sale on their chocolates and I couldn’t make up my mind on which ones to get so I went a little crazy and bought a bunch of different kinds, just in case. I now have a good sized bowl in the kitchen filled with a nice variety of chocolates that should keep my night time cravings in check for a few months.

I Found It

Monday, April 23rd, 2012

I’ve heard bits and pieces of this saying for many years, but I’ve never been able to find the whole thing. My best friend sent me another cute email today and at the end of it was this saying! Finding this was the best thing to happen to me all week.

Work like you don’t need the money.

Love like you’ve never been hurt.

Dance like nobody’s watching.

Sing like nobody’s listening.

Live like it’s Heaven on Earth.

Don’t Judge A Book By It’s Cover

Sunday, April 22nd, 2012

I am reading a book by Sybil Leek, “Diary of a Witch” The private life of one of the world’s most famous and colorful psychics. It isn’t the type of book that I would normally read, but I needed a book to stick in my purse the other week and just grabbed one off of the book shelve as I was running out the door. But I’m glad that I picked this book because it has turned out to be a pretty interesting read that I have learned a lot from it as well. When I read this part about Ben Franklin I knew that I had

The great American statesman, scientist, inventor and philosopher, Benijamin Frankin, wrote his own epitaph at the age of twenty-two. Carl Van Doren called “the most famous of American epitaphs.” Unfortunately, it was never used on Ben Franklin’s tombstone.
