Skin Lightening Treatments

Last week I was watching some late night talk show that had the great Janet Jackson on. I haven’t seen the beautiful Janet Jackson in a while so I was glad to see that she is still around, busy as ever and looking great. I know how hard her brother’s (Michael Jackson) death was on the entire family, but they are still standing strong and plan on still entertaining the world the way they all ways have through out the years.

I couldn’t help wonder if she was using some type of skin lightening product, much like the skin lightening treatments that Michael became famous for using. The pictures of the both of them from back in the day definitely look like a skin lightening product has been used as well as a good amount of plastic surgery all the way around. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have an issue with cosmetic surgery or skin lightening products. I just wish that they were more up front and honest about it, when it is so apparent to everyone that their appearances have been altered. It’s really no big deal now a days. I do believe you would be hard put to find a celebrity that hasn’t tried to alter their looks.

Menopause, Not A Laughing Matter

I know that menopause is nothing to really laugh about. I’m not looking forward to the day that I start feeling the effects of “The Change”. For some women it isn’t all that big of a deal, but in my family it is a major issue with the majority of the females that have gone through and the ones that now are going through it all. So something tells me that I’m in for one heck of a hormonal change. Not something to look forward to folks! But for now let’s have a giggle or two with this comic. I wonder which one I’ll be when my time comes……..

Skin Care Issues

My oldest daughter will be celebrating another birthday next month. The birthday’s just keep coming and coming, don’t they? Coming from a large family, there is always a birthday or anniversary looming just up ahead.We have so many that now we try to focus on just the kids when it comes to gift cards and Christmas presents.

This kid has always had sensitive skin and then when puberty hit she has had her hands full dealing with acne and still is. I’m not surprised, I still have occasional break outs and I’m and old lady in need of some anti-aging light therapy. Your face is never not in need of some type of special care for heaven’s sake.

Argan Conditioner and Argan Shampoo

Last night I finally tried the Argan Shampoo and Argan Conditioner that I received as a gift for Christmas through our Secret Santa party at work and I have to tell you that I am really impressed with the way this stuff makes my hair feel and look. They combine seaweed extract with Argan oil and Vitamin E so that it gently cleans and moisturizes the scalp and the hair and by golly it really works wonders. I’ll have to make sure and thank the co worker that drew my name, it is suppossed to be a secret but secrets are impossible to keep around that place!

Cyber Week and Other Interesting Finds

I had no idea that there was a Cyber Week, good thing I check my Facebook at least once a day or I would miss out on all kinds of goodies like this. I also just found out that my uncle is in the hospital and my nephew has been diagnosed with COPD and sleep apnea and my sister is taking belly dance lessons. You just gotta love Facebook and all of the information that you can get quickly and pass on as well.

Vet Scrubs

I had to take one of my dogs to the vet today, a trip that no one enjoys taking, but twice a year I load her up in the car and haul her old butt up the street to the local veterinarian for her check ups. Squeaky is over 13 years old and she doesn’t like having to get in and out of the back seat anymore and she knows where we are going so she doesn’t make it any easier than she possibly can for the duration of the entire task.

I really like the people that work at this medical facility for animals. They are always friendly and I usually don’t have to wait very long for any of the many procedures, office visits, shots, and all the other times we end up in their waiting room. It’s nice to see their dress policy allows the more upbeat vet scrubs for their medical uniforms that most folks are required to wear if they are in any type of medical position. They have some pretty cool veterinary scrub fashions to choose from these days, not just Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse that we are all so used to seeing so much of for so long. Scrubs for Today’s Medical Professionals

It is good to see that the powers above for today’s medical professions have decided to allow their personnel to wear decorative scrub medical uniforms instead of those plain white uniforms of the past. I remember as kid spending some time in the hospital, man it was so cold and sterile like, it would have been nicer if the nurses had on some of kiddie scrub sets that you see so much of with the good folks that work in pediatrics. Would have brought a tad bit of warmth to the whole ordeal.

The main thing I remember about the stay, other than the crappy food that they tried to make me eat, is my doctor had a fake lizard on his stethoscope that used to help distract his patients with while he tried to examine them. Some thing as simple as that can make a big difference to a scared, sick kid. So seeing a nurse wearing Winnie The Pooh or Mickey Mouse scrubs can certainly make a kid feel a bit less freaked out with everything going on with them and around them. Fitness Alliance

I have decided to do what ever it takes to come up with a nice sleek and trim Beach Body for next summer. Last summer we didn’t get a chance to go anywhere for fun in the sun and in any body of water for a variety of reasons, so it is important to me and the kids that next summer we make up for lost time. It is important for all of us to spend good times like that when we can and I really missed that this last summer.

Today’s Skin Care Products

Something that I really have not been taking seriously is the Skin Care Products that I used to rely on back in my younger days when I was so totally into myself and my appearance. All the time and money that was used on various Acne Products just blows my mind when I think of it, good thing that there are new and improved Skin Care Products on the market these days that I need to start looking into for me now. Funny how when you get to my age there are so many other things that take over our lives that we tend to put our own needs and wants on the back burner.

One thing that worries me is the thought of getting those dreaded Age Spots that so many women, many in my own immediate family, have to deal with. So I am going to start looking into what Skin Care Products are out there just for Age Spots and get a jump on the whole deal in an effort to be Age Spots free when my time comes to start dealing with those issues. I’ll keep you posted on how it all pans out!

Bad Make Up

I rarely wear a full face of makeup any more. It is just a waste of time and expensive chemicals to paint a face that never steps out the door. So, unless I am going someplace where my appearance is an important part of the outing, I just don’t wear it any more.

But today I had to go to a restaurant to meet friends who used to work with me. I wanted to fit in with them, as they are all still gainfully employed and still have to dress to impress.

So I dug out my makeup bag from the dresser drawer and commenced to applying makeup to my face. Sadly, some of the makeup has actually turned bad – the foundation bottle that I used burned my face, made it itch and caused a rash. So I had to toss that out and wash it off. Then the eyeliner was so dried out and clumpy that I could not use it. And then the lipstick burned my lips. The whole exercise was a disaster!
