Windy Day

The wind is so strong that even the gulls have trouble walking about.

What a great way to start a day! Virginia Beach is clean and not terribly crowded. I think we’ll go look for shells and get our toes wet before breakfast.
In all the years I’ve lived here, I have seen some flooding, but nothing like the rain and flooding we are having this weekend. It has been raining very hard, almost constantly, for 3 straight days. The highways are under water and entire neighborhoods are being evacuated. Scary times for Tennessee, but we are on high ground and should be safe.
For an occasional treat, I will enjoy a nice cold Sobe beverage. My favorite is the Green Tea, but I also like the citrus flavor and recently tried the Nirvana, which has a melon flavor. All these years the Sobe drinks have been in tall glass bottles. But today when I bought a citrus Sobe, the bottle was not glass – it was plastic. What’s up with that?
The first sign of spring was the dandelion that popped up overnight in my neighbor’s yard.
There are yellow blooms on the forsythia bushes now, and this afternoon I saw a bumblebee buzzing around the mailbox.
Soon we will have blooming azaleas and the Bradford Pears will be full of white blossoms.
