A Good Kid

Saturday, April 14th, 2012

It looks like I’ll be seeing what I can find online by way of University of Alabama shirts to send to my nephew for his 17th birthday. He is so excited about attending the University of Alabama next year when he is all said and done with graduating high school in a short few months. In order to keep the excitement alive in him I thought that he would appreciate some Alabama apparel for him to sport as this year’s birthday gift.

It will be different around here when he leaves in the Fall, he is the last of boys in family that are still around. The remaining minor children in the family are all female, not that I have a problem with that mind you. It is just strange how things have shifted throughout the years from guys being the majority for so long and how it has gradually turned female.

He is a good kid, gave his mom, my kid sister, a hard time for a few years, but he has managed to pull it together, getting better grades and cut way back on his partying lifestyle that can really ruin a kid. So I’m so glad that he managed to turn it all around and will be heading out for college in less than 5 months.

WHINEY DOG

Saturday, March 24th, 2012

Thanks for the post, Arthur Lawrence

I was on-line today using my clearwirewimax4g connection to do some research from home on a project that I am working on for work. When we don’t have clients scheduled or specific meeting that he have to be at, if we can do our work from home, our boss allows it. The only rule is that we have to always be available by phone and check our e-mail hourly. It is a pretty good deal to be able to stay home and do research for your job from the comfort of your couch and laptop. Today though, I was totally distracted. I usually take my dog for a walk in the mornings before I go to work and before I get in the shower. Today, I had so much work to do though, I decided that I would walk him later in the afternoon—big mistake! It was like he knew that we didn’t go on a walk when we usually do and he was getting fussy. By getting fussy he was whining, barking at me, and sitting looking out the window whining. It was so annoying I couldn’t focus on work. Finally, I had to break down and walk him for thirty minutes! I will not be doing that again. If I am staying home working, he is getting walked in the morning!

Kid Brother In Dire Straights

Sunday, February 26th, 2012

Since I’m not able to lend my kid brother the money that he needs to get his plumbing fixed, I urged him to look on the Internet and Google “title loans Louisiana” to see if he can find a place close to where he lives that will loan him the money that he needs to take care of the problem. I hate to see him be in such dire straights but there just isn’t any money left at the end of the pay week to take care of my own issues much less his, although I would if I could.

baby sign langauge

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

I appreciate the guest post, Emerson Moses

I just finished reading “The Baby Book,” by Dr. William Sears. I love this book, and plan to buy a copy for any and all of my friends who have babies. One thing I read that really intrigues me is the idea of teaching a baby to communicate with sign language. Basically, what it said is that babies can communicate much earlier than they can speak with actual words, and if you teach your baby sign language, they can tell you what they want and need even when they don’t know how to talk yet. It assured me that this would help, rather than hinder, my baby’s oral language development. I don’t know any signs, though! I know I could find signs and pictures of signs online, so I’m going to see if we can get internet connection. I went to http://www.satellitestarinternet.com/ and it seemed like an option that would work for us. Then, once I am able to access the sign language for babies sites, I’m going to print off pictures of all the signs to display around the house.

Social Networks

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

While my 13 year old daughter and I were out and about running the errands today we some how got on the subject of CB radios that became so popular back in the 70′s, which is a subject that she really has a very limited knowledge on, so I tried to enlighten her with some of my memories of that era. Basically it was the beginning of filling the need for a social network that opened doors for so many people and businesses way before the makers of  Social Networks like the Facebook and MySpace were even born.

Of course there are numerous social networks on the Internet. Like just recently I signed up and joined a pretty cool online Fashion Social Network that so far looks pretty cool, but I definitely need to spend some more time to get a better feel of what it is all about. My sister was telling me some things about it that I really want to see if I can find and take a look-see for myself. I look forward to hearing from other Fashion Bloggers from all over the world. I’m interested in seeing what today’s online fashion community has to say. And that’s a big 10-4 Good Buddy!
