Another very cool thing about my family is the way the numbers of our birthdays fall. There is a definite pattern of numbers and my mom played those numbers on one of her Las Vegas trips and actually won Keno money from them. The birthdays for the 5 of us run 21, 19, 17, 15 and 13. Isn’t that cool?
That numbering pattern didn’t follow through with my kids. Mine were born on the 1, 2 and 4.
Our first measurable snow is forecast for tonight. It’s been spitting rain and snow off and on all day. By morning we could see as much as one inch on the ground.
We’ve gotten off pretty easy so far this winter – only a few snow showers and nothing that has lasted even one day. They closed schools for the flu this year instead of for snow days. That’s sad but indicative of the changes to our environment and our culture.
If we do have enough snow to close schools in the county I hope to see our grandson for a few hours and take him to a nearby hill to sled and make snow angels. That will be a first for him and I think we will all have fun playing in the snow.
It looks like as soon as Christmas and New Year’s is all over and done with we will be concentrating on the planning of the wedding of my kid brother and his very pregnant fiance. First thing in order I suppose will be looking at the maternity wedding dresses that are available in the area and then on to all of the other hundreds of tasks that are involved with planning a June wedding.

Getting out of the car to pay for gas, my cell phone dropped onto the concrete and busted. Doggone it! It still works, but the display part – what do you call that? – is cracked and you cannot see anything, like who is calling or how many voicemails you have. So I guess I have to get a new one.
Of course, the phone company says that my contract doesn’t allow an upgrade yet and I didn’t have insurance on it – that’s a rip off and you know it! – so it is up to me to find something on the internet or maybe “Wally’s World of Wonderous Things” and I hate shopping there, but when you want something cheap, that’s the place to go.
It’s all about saving as much money as you can for all purchases made any day of the year and especially around the holiday season, which by the way if you hadn’t noticed, is fast approaching us. As of this writing there is only 51 days, 6 hours and 50 minutes until Christmas day 2011 and there is still so much to get done. I try and do as much shopping online as I can but some times we all have to venture out into the real world and spend our money in our local retail stores and my favorite store is Walmart. So I was happy to find that there are walmart coupons to be found online at Dropdowndeals.com and I wanted to take just a moment and spread the word, lots of other coupons can be found there as well.
