It looks like we will be spending Mother’s Day at my brother and sister-in-law’s house this year, which suites me just fine. Last year I was the host and it kept me so busy that I didn’t really have a chance to spend any time with my mother. I don’t enjoy having family get togethers at my place. I really don’t enjoy cooking or cleaning up the house spit spot and if it requires decorating with festive holiday decorations – oh please, gag me with a spoon…..
While spending an hour at the park, we came across this party of Mexican kids. The girls were so pretty in their dresses! And the boys were perfect gentlemen – even to the point of giving up their suit jackets to put over the girls shoulders because it was so cold and the girls were shivering.
Getting an RV has always been a dream and I have to admit that recently the yearning for one has been getting stronger.
We stopped by a Camper World kinda place a few years ago and I was crushed to see how expensive they can be. Not in this girl’s budget!
But if you have some cash at hand and bide your time, bargains can be had. I have been watching the sell it yourself ad books each week and there have been some good deals out there. I’m just not ready to spend that much money, what with taxes coming due and the price of gas going up a few pennies more every day.
But I have wanderlust in my genes and traveling the country by RV gives you a totally different perspective on the highways and towns on your trip than just flying in on a plane and taking a cab to the hotel. I want to see the country close up and do it while I’m young enough to enjoy the experience.
I generally don’t post very many cutsie photos like this one. But today was one of those days that it just struck me funny enough to take the time to cut and paste it on here.
If the shoe fits where it, as they say!
March is coming in with a roar. We have had temperatures drop to just the 20’s and 30’s and we are expecting snow tonight again. I don’t like to have snow on the weekend, but if we are lucky it won’t amount to much and we can get on about our business in spite of the bad weather.
If this is the price we have to pay for an early springs, then so be it. I am looking forward to March “going out like a lamb.”
