It was 14 years ago and it feels like last week. My son, Patrick had his last Thanksgiving dinner with the family in 1994, and then lost his battle with AIDs two days later. He was just 19 and had been suffering from this horrible disease for several years. He just wanted to live long enough to have a cure discovered, but here it is 14 years later and still no cure. He was so sick at Thanksgiving that he could only eat a couple mouthfuls of food, then he had to go into the hospital ICU the next day.
I’ve never really enjoyed Thanksgiving since then.

Well, after several hectic days working on that project, I sent in the draft and expected to finish it up the night before meeting with the client. But the client had a change of plans and came in a day early, so they flew with the draft. That was a little disconcerting, but he says it was a hit. So it’s done and I hope we get to make the deal. Cross your fingers for me!

Get-togethers in your near neighborhood should prove enjoyable right now, Noreen. Communication with others, particularly about possible new business interests, should bring a lot of positive information your way that you’re apt to put to work for you. The level of respect that you get from those around you could be particularly gratifying. Your hard work has not only enriched your socioeconomic standing, but your friendships as well. Enjoy your day.
This is so weird. I read my horoscope this morning. For entertainment purposes only, of course. Then within the hour I get an email from a buddy asking me to call. We talked for about 45 minutes and now I’m working on a multi-million dollar deal with his team. How cool is that?
I belong to several different communities or neighborhoods. I consider online to be a community just as real as the houses on my street. My professional associations are communities, as well.

My two sons both registered to vote about a month ago and have been waiting for election day to go vote this year. We’ve had a lot of political discussions their entire lives and we pretty much are in agreement. I’m so proud that they take this responsibility seriously. My youngest voted early this morning and my oldest waited until early evening. Neither one had to wait longer than about 15 minutes, which is surprising. So we are watching the returns on TV and will see who wins tonight!
