It’s my mom’s birthday. I have to look up the date of the year and do the math to figure out how old she is, but I have to do that with everyone in the family now. The only one I know exactly how old they are is my brother who is exactly 10 years younger than me.

I sent mom a Hallmark card and a gift card to a nice restaurant, so hopefully she will have a nice meal without having to cook. She was planning a nice quiet day at home, with a boat ride and day at the beach in the afternoon, weather permitting. This time of year it is tough to plan outdoor activities, but I think this year she got lucky and had a nice day to celebrate her birthday.

I came across this picture of Kansas Governor Sebelius. I don’t know much about her, but I really like her hairstyle and she looks so polished.
