Severe Weather – Again
Really bad storms came through here last night. We woke up to find a lot of large tree limbs fallen in the yard. Thank goodness no real damage to our house or cars. The water runoff down our driveway eroded a huge ditch along the side of the concrete and on down the hill behind us. We’ll have to get out the shovels as soon as the mud dries out a little.
Some of our neighbors were not so lucky. A least one tornado came through here during the night and just half a mile from our house you can see a path of destruction as the twister took out several houses and sheds through that neighborhood. No one was killed or seriously hurt here, but the TV says that a lot of people throughout Alabama and Tennessee were killed or hurt and hundreds are homeless, including just about all the kids at the college in Jackson, TN because a tornado destroyed the dorms.
Very tough night for a lot of folks. This is when we must come together as a commuity and help each other get through this.
