Shoe on the Other Foot

So the New Yorker’s rival publication, Vanity Fair, has come up with a political satire cover to complement the cover depicting Obama and his wife. The Vanity Fair cover depicts McCain and his wife, also doing “the bump” imitating Obama but with totally different expressions on their faces. Notice the Constitution burning in the fireplace and the portrait of Bush over the fireplace, and McCain’s walker.

I think both covers are funny, but in a mean spirited way. I suppose that’s what satire is all about.
I agree with you that the press seems to be more about persuasion and sensationalism than about reporting facts. It is a disturbing trend.
